Kathryn Sims is a certified polygraph examiner and the owner of Liberty Polygraph.
Kathryn Sims was raised in southern California and graduated high school in 1993. Kathryn attended San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College. In 1995, Kathryn became a certified EMT and graduated from the Crafton Hills College Fire Academy. In 1996 Kathryn was hired as a paid call firefighter for San Bernardino County Fire and a helitack crew member and squad boss for the Bureau of Land Management , assigned to the Apple Valley Flight Crew.
In 1999 Kathryn found the career of her dreams and was hired with the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, were she worked as a firefighter, police officer and EMT for the next 18 years. During Kathryn's career, she worked in the patrol division, fire division, special operations bureau and held a collateral assignment as a background investigator . Most of Kathryn's career was spent in the Investigation's Bureau where she worked as a detective and detective lieutenant. Kathryn gained extensive experience and attended over 600 hours of P.O.S.T. certified training related to criminal investigations. Kathryn gained expertise in forensic interviewing and interrogation, sexual assault investigations, child physical and sexual abuse investigations, elder abuse investigations, domestic violence investigations, narcotics investigations and sex registrant compliance. Kathryn supervised crime scenes and significant investigations including homicides and officer involved incidents. Kathryn's public service career was cut short in 2017 due to a work related injury and she medically retired as a Public Safety Lieutenant. Throughout Kathryn's career she worked tirelessly to protect the innocent, hold perpetrators accountable, and always conducted impartial and thorough investigations that many times exonerated the wrongfully accused.
In 2017 Kathryn graduated from Marston Polygraph Academy in San Bernardino, CA. and began her new career as a polygraph examiner.
